Interview Assistance
Get a Second Opinion On Your Advisor
In order to properly match a client with the right advisor, our main value offering will be derived from the advisor selection and interview process. After we have gathered sufficient information regarding the client’s circumstances, our goal is to assist the client in finding the most knowledgeable advisor to meet the client’s needs.
Avoid Being Sold by a Financial Sales Pitch
Oftentimes, client meetings are no more than elaborate sales pitches dictated by the advisor. The client is rarely given an opportunity, nor do they have the adequate knowledge, to ask pertinent questions in gauging the advisor’s background and qualifications. Although clients may recognize an advisor as more financially savvy than themselves, they are unable measure the depth of knowledge, let alone distinguish a more qualified advisor from one that is less.
Ask the Right Questions For Your Personal Situation
Our job is to ask the right questions on behalf of the client, and assess the advisor’s response to fundamental and client specific topic areas. Our service objectively filters advisors based on their ability to recognize and address the client’s specific needs. Although there are subjective areas to investing and planning, our goal is not to invalidate the response provided by the advisor, but more a means to understand the thought process and the underlying logic behind the advisor’s reasoning and investment philosophy.
Assess the Advisor's Background and Expertise
We then review a broad range of investment and financial planning topics with the advisor, from very basic, ad hoc financial planning and investment concepts, to more complex client specific questions that serves to separate a more knowledgeable advisor from his peers. The objective of the interview is not to confront the advisor and his/her reasoning, but to gain insight to the advisor’s area of expertise, and thought process behind recommendations.
Feel Comfortable With Your Advisor
In the end, advisor selection and retention always rests with the client. We have no vested interest with whom the client ultimately chooses, but we do endeavor to ensure the client makes a better informed decision, and is not merely sold by an advisor’s sales pitch.
